I am posting this here because it relates to an after market lift I am browsing. Does any one know the suspension travel? The reason I ask is I have been looking at Curries extended travel suspension package that claims 9.5" of travel with there shocks. I want to know if it's a big improvement over stock to make the almost 1300.00 dollar price tag justified. The kit would be the front and rear kit each about 300.00 a peice. Along with a set of Walker Evans Emulsion shocks wich are 172.00 a peice. The kits sparse but in the time I have been jeeping I have never seen currie do a bad product so I want to see if they are just over pricing this and if it's worth it.

I know I can almost get the RE superflex for that price but for this thread I just want opinions on Currie's option.

The factory travel is 7.5" front and rear. The Walker shocks are an option, it's a great option if you are doing lots of higher speed desert "pre-running". If most of your wheeling is at lower speeds Rancho shocks work great and you can save some cash. The biggest difference between the two is how quick the shock will fade under "pre-running" conditions. The rancho will fade a lot quicker than the Walker.
The front kit gives you a 2.25" coil spacer to level the vehicle. The rear kit has no lift. In both front and rear the extra travel is gained by using longer shocks and all the necessary hardware required to make it all work. You can run a 33"
tires.

FYI, our suspension lift system gives you 11" of travel!!!!!

Ok, why is it every manufacture has to say something about there product and not have ANY INFO ONLINE! You've peaked my interest David so whats this 11" kit since I can't find it online. Also can you explain the reasoning for heim joint drop links instead of disconnects? Is this for a future antirock setup or you guys didn't want to get in the disco market on the JK?

Last I have is shocks. I hated the Rancho RS9000X on my TJ. Are the one you recomending valved for the JK or are they a general shock like the TJ? Finally compared to the Walker Evans emulsion shock how is the shock fade? Im not looking at the reservoir shocks now. I do a lot of high speed stuff out in Dummont and the Mojave so shock fade is still important. I need something thats not going to blow out or really soften up after a few trip out.

The reason why you dont see any info on our web site is because the product is not available at this time, will be available in the next couple of weeks.

We are using the new Rancho RS9000XL, it is a gas charged shock. I can tell you that the ride quality is great (better than stock) when used with our dual rate springs. As far as shock fade goes, my experience with a TJ is that after 5-10 minutes of hard use they will start to fade due to overheating. Once they cool down they will come back. If you run a better shock like a Walker, Fox or King they will take the pounding better.
