it looks like the Brute conversion has a swing down tail gate

With our Warn rear bumper it actually gives you a top/shelf/work area instead of a tail gate.
Just to give you an idea what it looks like and the space it gives. One problem is that we had get a fellow wheeler who part owns Parrott Fab. to make a custom spare tire spacer that looks like this.
It does work really well and i can get his info if needed. He Belongs to one of our 4x4 groups (White Knuckle 4x4).

i'm cerrntly working on the fold down tailgate for the jk for when i get a new rear bumper
i'm planning to use the hinges they used for the doors and going to a junkyard to tear up some old truck tailgate latches. will post write up here once i get it working and painted

ok think i finally figured everything out
i found a guy online who used a cj7 tailgate on his tj, he used all the old factory stuff on the cj and just welded the hinges on
now my problem, would a cj tailgate work with the Jk

I shaved my tail gate about 6 months ago and 2 weeks arter i backed into a dumpster destroying it. I decided to redo it and make a fold down gate with Jeep stamped into it like the cj's had, and am curently finishing up the body work on the tail gate. I have a few ideas on mounting and how to git it to latch. I will post up when i decied on what idea im going with.

btw did u just take off the plastic covers for the hinges
