I always have read a rope that breaks falls to the ground. No danger to anyone. Unless you are about to fall off a cliff.

With syn, you can tie it and keep going and a perm fix is to splice it. I read a deal by masterpull on how to do this on a smaller TX foru*.

I like to show off my good winch but cover the rope...I have seen a white velcro cover that just covers the rope...even thou ill post some picks of my old Superwinch and show how baked it looks after not being covered for 3 year's

This is a very good point...I had not thought of that as most of my wheeling is on a flat beach in sand...I must be wearing Orthopedic shoes, as I stand corrected !!
