Default TeraFlex 2.5" lift

Please forgive my ignorance, I am new to my JK, 4 wheelin, and any off road mods at all.
I have a 08 Unlimited X
I will be doing the TeraFlex 2.5" Budget Boost with Shock Adapters, is the kit all I need?
Is it hard to self install? I am mildly mechanicly inclined.
I also will be getting 33" tires later, but will run stock for a while. I will not change my rims. Should I get the TeraFlex 1" Wheel Spacers now or wait till I get the tires? Will I need the spacers now?
Will this change my ride quality much? I like it now. This is my DD, 90% will be on road. My off road adventures will NOT be rock walls or water runs. Alot of this lift is for astecics, but will use it in the dirt too.

Thanks
Joe

This whole 2.5"BB and stock wheels with spacers thing has been covered many many times.......use the search function and you will find all your answers and an in depth installation guide on project-jk.com

I did a search, and yes, there is a ton of info out there. Alot of it is conflicting and that is why I wanted a few peeps to give real answers.
I have already seen the guide, it iseems like an easy install, but I have never done anything like this before.
A question for those who are in the know...Is it a good product for the money?
Thank you for your time?

I know what you mean about the search function on a forum. You either find noting valid or way more than you care to weed through.

I just installed the kit with the 3" HD springs this past weekend. Its a real easy kit to install (especially with the writeup from here) - I was trying to teach my younger brother a thing or to about wrenching and had him do the other part to what I was doing (most everything comes in pairs) and hes only 16 and caught on quick. After I was done, I threw on a set of 35's and drove 2 1/2 hours back to Auburn going 75-80 down the highway.........it rode great. You have to start wrenching on your vehicle at some time, its the only way to know that its done right, or atleast thats how I think of it. I think its a real complete kit for the money thats easy to add on to later (like if you want to install adjustable trac bars to re-center your axle, or add adj control arms to dial in everything) But the kit rides great by itself and I believe everyone here has been happy with it. The only thing that I would add is that you shoud start on the rear first instead of the front like it says in the writeup since the stock rear swaybar links get put on the front and new ones from teraflex are thrown on the rear.

The problem is threads like this - It would be better to have one topic thread called 2.5" BB that everyone posts Q/A on........but of course that would require much organization. Maybe if the mods have a bunch of spare time they can make a 2.5"BB sticky that hosts all the threads that contain real info and not mindless chatter.

x2 on this. Except mine didnt have the coils. Great kit, love it! Definitely start with the back.

Edit: oh and if you are using stock wheels with this lift the new longer rear sway bar links will hit the tire/wheel. Either install them on the inside of the bracket, get wheel spacers, or just keep the stock ones on. The extended rear links are really only neccesary if you have the electronic disconnect up front.

Thanks for all the great info, I will be going for the teraflex kit and spacers.
By chance, does anyone have pics of this kit installed with stock wheels/tires? Wondering how it will look....
