Default Teraflex BB ride quality before and after properly torquing bolts

I installed a 2.5 BB with shock extenders and added some 33 inch tires. Initially I didn't have a torque wrench so I just tightened everything the best I could. The road ride was perfect and felt just like stock. After about 500 miles I heard a tiny click or pop here and there so I decided to buy a torque wrench. With the jeep on the ground I loosened and re- torqued everything to spec and the noises are completely gone but my ride quality is not the same. Its now a very bumpy ride and I feel every single bump in the road. Should I jack up the axel again and loosen and re-torque? Could that be the difference or was I just enjoying the ride quality of loose parts?

Yeah - I did it in my garage. The track bar seemed to be the only thing that needed tightening. I'm wondering if there is something I over torqued that would make such a difference. It still cruises straight and smooth but every bump rattles and shakes the whole jeep.

I can't see how anything you did would change the ride like you mention.

You sure you didn't adjust air pressure or something?

I have the exact same issue! I just posted a thread today as well. Teraflex 2.5 BB on a 2013 JK. Mine rode like crap right away. I re-torqued everything and it was way better. Then I rechecked it this weekend and now it is back to a crap ride. When I hit a bump, it feels like everything under the Jeep shakes side-to-side. I'm just waiting to see a Dana 44 rolling down the road behind me.

My thought right now is that maybe one or both track bars are loose again (maybe due to the high heat in MD and cool nights expanding and contracting the metal or bushings?), or maybe that something is too tight and causing it to bind (which seems unlikely).

I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if we can get this figured out.

What shocks are you guys running ?
Pressure in the tires ?
Possible with warmer weather, the psi increase is felt ?

I started with longer Bilstein 5100's, but I thought that was the issue so I ordered shock extensions and swapped my stock shocks back in. That helped.

Ran the stock tires at 35 psi and then swapped in my 315/70/17 Duratrac's and am running those at about 30 psi. I aired them down to 28 psi and didn't feel a difference.

For me, it's not the up and down movement of the suspension. It feels like it shifts side-to-side, which tells me it is track bar or control arm related. But they are torqued...

Maybe this is my Jeeps way of telling me that it's time to call Rock Krawler.

Did the BB kit have the shitty rear frame side track bar drop bracket? I have seen those break and act as a pivot causing the rear axle to move side to side.

If the roll center isn't corrected by raising the rear axle end TB attach point (by way of a bracket) the Jeep handling won't be as good as stock.

Outside of breaking the control arm and TB bolts from over torquing you won't cause a bad ride by having them too tight. Loose bolts will cause shimmies and death wobble.

Yes, I do in fact have the shitty rear drop bracket. To be honest, when looking at the bracket, I thought there was no way that POS would cut it. I hate to ask this, but what would happen if the bracket failed while driving down the road and the track bar came loose?
