Default Teraflex guys... Help please!

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone running a teraflex 4" lift could shed some light into some shock options. I am currently running a 4" full control arm lift by Teraflex, however after a year I want to explore different options for a softer ride than what my 9550 shocks offer. I have been looking at OME ofcourse and they're LT shock, but have been hearing decent things about bilstein, Fox, Elka too. I dont really want to get into paying a ton for Fox/Elka but I can defineatly spend the cash to get the OME at around $95 a shock for a nice ride. Also, I want to keep my springs for ride height and my hard a$$ Nitto mud grapplers for mud. What do you think? Will the OME soften up the ride enough? other options? Thanks in advance!

I run the king shocks. They are supposed to be the best on the market. Check out off road evolution.

Yea I heard good things about King as well... I was really leaning towards some OME b/c everyone seems to be consistent in saying it was the softest shock... However I don't know how its going to perform with my Teraflex 4" springs and my hard 37" nitto mud graps

I have the TF Elkas and ran the TF 9550s prior to that. See my signature for mods.

My advice would be to only take input from people who actually run the shocks you're interested in. Pay extra attention to the opinions of those who have run several different sets on the same JK. Additionally, try to drive a JK with the shocks you're interested in prior to your purchase.

Personally, the Elkas weren't the Holy Grail I'd been searching for. That's nearly the polar opposite of everything I've read on this forum. I want to be clear, they're a fine shock. Just didn't do it for me.

Still searching for an option,

Wish I'd have spent the same money on a re-gear instead.

If I understood Dave at northridge right, OME shocks are softer. But the LT's are not. I'm running bilsteins right now. Cant say its softer than stock but the ride and control are way better.

I'm also running the JK specific Kings with my Terra-flex LCA. Very happy with the ride quality on and off road.

Shocks are very tough to advice on becuase everybody has a huge difference of opinion on what is a great riding shock.

Some like firm and some like soft.

U guys are all being helpful... I ordered the OME LT but maybe I'll cancel the order. I defineately want it soft but if the LT aren't going to offer me much improvement, I'm not going to order them. Is the improvement going to be felt more with the springs or the shocks? I guess what I am trying to say is what holds most percentage of ride... Tires/shocks/springs. really want to get this handled. Unfortunately no one I know has the Teraflex set up with different shocks... Thanks for the plush ride spring thread too BTW. I def. want a soft ride, softer the better
