I'm running the factory tire mount with the TF hinge.

My MB TKO wheels have 3.75" BS and the tire is like a 1/2mm from the bumper. Its so perfect. I'd like to say I planned it this way but I just really got lucky.

Running 35x12.50x 15 KM2s.

That is a feature I really like. it stays open and you do not have to worry about it opening too far and screwing the tailgate stop up. It will only open so far then stops. I like that it stays open to what ever point I open it and it does not move until I move it.

I have to get rid of my tire carrier, the rattle is so annoying, how is the rattle noise with the TF carrier? Does it work ok with aftermarket bumpers too?

I have done approximately 600 miles of trails a lot on washboard roads (500 miles in Moab area and just did 100 miles today on rough road called the Lolo Motorway) and no rattles and solid as a rock.

yeah my TF set up too is very solid and silent. Using only the TF hinge with OE carrier, 35's. Even with the additional weight of tools bolted to the inside of the tail gate, rattle and movement free

What about the weight of the rim and tire on the OE tire carrier, that's a lot of weight , it only pot metal . They sell the tire carrier too
