Teraflex Quick Disconect Problems

Teraflex Quick Disconect Problems
I was wondering how others have dealt with this...
I just installed my TF 0-3" lift disconnects. I do not have a lift on my JK.
I tried to install the bolts facing in, like Mark Doirion recommended in his install

But, the bolt is too long and it hits the metal structure & the bar will not rotate freely. I didn't have time to cut the bolts, so I turned them outward like Teraflex says to do, but I'm worried they will bust a tire.
Anyone else with this problem?
