Default Teraflex upper control arms - need help!

This weekend is really it! One thing after another has pushed off my install, but weather permitting I am all set.

In preparation, I was setting all the control arms to length. The last ones I worked on were the front uppers. The instructions for a 3"/ 2 door install call for these arms to be set at 18 3/4" (stock length). On these arms, there are two sets of holes in the axle end. Looking at the picture in the install instructions for the Teraflex 4 inch kit, they use the ones at the furtherest end of the arm. Here is the question - The shortest I can make the arm using the holes at the end is 19 1/4" before it bottoms out - not even close to 18 3/4"s. I can do it if I use the closer holes, but am not sure if that is what those are intended for or will even work. It may be obvious once under the Jeep and have the stocks off, but don't want to go there and have no answer! I am hoping someone can come back with a quick answer (meaning easy solution) .

Wayoflife - I sent you a PM as well - just anxious for an answer and thought I'd give the grid a hollar as well.

By the way, here are the rims and tires!

Start out with the 19.25" settings, install then if you need to lengthen them out. Being that your going taller than stock, you will need longer arms. I'm going to check when I get tues on those arms. We should have them be able to going to stock length for anyone that wants them on a stock height or a 2.5".

Thanks for the reply. Which holes do I use - the ones closest or furthest? If I can use the closer ones, then I will have no problems. With the instructions calling for 18 3/4" on a 3" lift, I was worried that 19 1/4 would be too long. If going with the longer length, I should probably set the lowers longer, more like the 4 door measurements then?

What is the reason that the 4 door would be set different than the 2 door. Aren't the mounts in the same location?

Use the closest to start off with. The measurements in the instructions are a good starting point to go off from. In the end you'll adjust everything to set your pinion. Not sure on an benefits on using the 4 door measurements, sorry.
