Default TereFlex BB - "spring retention" spacers?

This listing on Quadratec's website for the TereFlex BB lift indicates their spacers "wont allow the springs to drop out during full articulation" which is good to know . Does this mean that with other BB's out there you are at risk of the spring falling out under extreme articulation? Someone please educate me. I am in the market for a Budget Boost lift and will run my stock rubi wheels/tires for the time being and it will be off-road. Thanks for any info !!!

The Rear Spacers Have That Little Extra Point To Them That If You Extend Too Much It Keeps The Coil Close Enough That It Will Go Back Into Place

Exactly. As shown in the pic, the rears have a center point molded into the spacer that prevents the spring from dislodging under articulation.

Default Good Question

So this isn't just a marketing gimmick. I was told by several retailers that a spacer is a spacer, they all do the same thing. I can get a spacer kit from Superlift for about $50 cheaper, but if the Teraflex is indeed a better spacer because of the design, then $50 becomes a minor issue. I really don't want my spring coming out because I wanted to save a couple bucks.

So far with RubyDoo, She has yet to even think about letting a spring go and she has been wheeled pretty hard. Little Red RubyJeep has been doing really well as well being both have this set-up.

Whether or not your spring will come out will depend on your shock travel. Most spacer kits come with shocks that are too short to allow the spring to unload. The tera kits come with the same shocks as the 3" kit so they are a little longer and therefore run more of a chance of the spring coming out.

FWIW I have the tera BB on mine with the tera SSV shocks and could not be happier. I originally bought the BB w/o shocks and ran a cheaper twin tube shock (Rough Country) and was not pleased with the wheel travel or the ride quality (too mushy for the heavier JK & too short) and ordered the Tera shocks. Now I have more wheel travel and a much better ride.

Thanks for the feedback. I ordered the Teraflex 2.5 BB kit today with shocks. Can't wait to get it installed next week. Pics to come ...

It's cool to see you guys checking out kits this well...if you will notice our 2.5" kit uses the factory isolator which has that same cone shape to keep the spring where it belongs. Check it out....

but your rear adaptors only mount in two places wear as tera's uses a tri set up in the rear

do you feel that just 2 points is strong enough not to snap the shock mounts??
