TF 2.5 or RE 2.0??
I did some more research... I'm going with the RE 2.0" kit because of the longer shocks. Somehow the TF 2.5" kit with the shock extenders sounds a tad ghetto to me.
I'm getting them the first thing tomorrow morning at a local 4wd shop. I'll give you a first impression sometime later tomorrow. I'm also going with JKS Quicker Disconnects. Don't have the $$$ for better gears. In reality, the 3:21 gears aren't that much worse with the larger tires I'm running over the stock Rubi tires that were on it.
Thanks for your reply!!

No disrespect but the BB in general is exactly an aristocratic choice?
Okay... first impression with 40 miles combined city and highway driving.
The JK seems to handle better and steering seems tighter than before even with the TF steering stabilizer I installed prior to the lift. The ride is much stiffer, but bearable and may soften up as the shocks settle in. I gained exactly 2" of height all around. I'm glad I went this route over the other setup with the shock extenders. It'll be a couple of weeks before I get out on the trail again, I'll post up what I think when I get back.
To be truthful, in the looks department, I like how the JK looks without the lift, but I needed a couple of inches to stop the tires from rubbing on the fender flares.

First, let me apologize about the ghetto remark... a bad choice of words. Maybe I should of said "cheaper".
Yeah, being an old retired guy, I'm on a fixed budget too... that's why I couldn't afford the JKS Quicker Disconnects today. I'll save up my pennies for a month or two and get them later.
I'm by no means an expert when it comes to Jeep lifts... just using a little mechanical common sense gained after working on the big jets for 24 years. To me a BB with spacers and strut extenders v.s. BB with spacers and longer shocks is a no brainer. The RE kit is a little more expensive than the TF kit, but in the long run I feel new longer shocks are way better than the little shock extensions you spoke of. That's why I went with the Rubicon Express kit. And yes, even that set up is a compromise, but like you said... "Most of us are on a budget so we cut corners sometimes". ....
