(this information is listed on the AEV website)

(I was told by supporting forum vendor that I would need driveshafts without question,
I have been told repeatedly by AEV that I don't)

I was going to use the Tera-Flex spacers, as the weight gain of the y-pipe scares me vs. how light the spacers are. Also the spacers seem to be less invasive. I am told that Mopar went to a ton of trouble to make sure the exhaust lengths were the exact same on each side for best performance. I think the spacers retain that, and the y pipe strews away from that. Just my "two-cents"
Weight gain of the Y-Pipe? its quite literally the exact same length as the factory Y-Pipe, just redirects the exhaust behind the cross member. If anything, I'd say the AFE Y-Pipe is a hair lighter.

Yeah if you have a 2012 you will have to modify the exhaust, apparently the fine people at Jeep didnt anticipate consumers wanting to lift their jeeps...fml

Yes, AEV and lots of other lift manufacturers say on their sites that no drive shaft mods are required... they're also trying to sell you an expensive lift...In all reality, stock drive shaft will work...until you actually flex and shred the boot which will gradually lead to it seizing up and so on...No one really wants to list *Requires purchase of $450.00+ Drive Shaft.

2. The provided bolts do not have enough thread on them, so after piling on 6 washers, I decided to use a slightly larger nut instead as a spacer nut.

3. The Y-pipe clamp bolt was removed easily after it sat for an hour with penetrating oil all over it ;-)

4. Having the Y-pipe slide in farther was difficult at first until I decided to just install the spacers, pre-loading the exhaust system towards the back of the jeep, then with a 2x4 against the cat, hitting it towards the front of the jeep with a hammer. Worked awesome with 2 mild hits.

5. I measured before and after the distance... the exhaust spacers moved the exhaust cross over back an inch. So with my new JE Reel front drive shaft, I'm anticipating no issues on a Teraflex 4" short arm lift.

Cheers!

Paul.
Thanks Paul. I am having an issue with item 4 above. My pipe did not slide into the Y pipe so my exhaust is loaded and now rubbing on a cross member at times making an awful noise.

I am going to try the 2x4 against the cat and hopefully everything will slide together. If not, heading to the muffler shop!!
