These good floor jack and jack stands?
My jack stands are like the ones you linked to, also. I do need to get taller stands, though.
FYI, theres no need to replace harbor with h@rbor. its not a bad word you know.
I keep a set of 6 ton and 12 ton jack stands depending on the application. The height difference as Rubimon pointed out is where the big difference comes in. As far as weight is concerned, either will be fine.

Yeah, I just didnt want to take a chance on it. What is WOL using in the write ups, look like "ProXone"?
The second is what I may buy and is a 5 ton that lifts 27 1/2". It's available as std or air over hydraulic. http://www.norcoindustries.com/products_71500E.shtml
They are both rebuildable but infortunately they are not cheap. The first is 409 nd the 2nd is 749. Both from Jack exchange.
They also have a 3 ton SUV jack that I hadn't noticed before. It lifts to 24 3/4 and goes for 389. http://www.norcoindustries.com/products_71300A.shtml
The last may be the one I get as it goes 5" higher than my current 2 ton and is not as expensive as the 5 ton. My current 2 ton is marginal and I'd like more. It's a Sears Craftsman jack built in Japan in the late 70's or early 80's. There are indictions that it was built by Norco.

There are other jacks you can buy out there. A lot of old name US brands are now built in China. The key, I'm told, is whether parts are readily available at a reasonable price.

I had some cheap jackstands from hf, and one of the cast pieces just fell over in two pieces when I lift the axle back up to adjust the location. I was ok because I had the jack under it still, but it still scared me. I won't buy anything from hf that supports weight over me. For the same (or close to) I bought 6 ton double locking stands from Northern made by torin, big red jack. Not sure where they are made, but quality is very good. Just because something is made in china doesn't mean quality is bad, but quality control may be. Torin is iso certified. Good luck!
