I'm running 35's with the 3.21 with the 3.8L at the moment. And the best way I can describe it (with a manual trans) is to imagine it as a 5 speed.

Any hill at all? Useless 6th gear, sucks fuel and can't maintain any sort of speed. I only use 6th gear on level ground or down hills for MPG reasons.

Is it drivable? yeah.
Is it frustrating? more times than not.

On the bright side, I drive like a grandma and even with 35s in a 2 door, I average 17.5 minimum, usually closer to 18 mpg. (no muffler which I hear helps)

Regarding the 2014, I have a 2014, went with 34" duratracs ($1500), Rough Country 2.5" spacer lift ($180), AEV Geo Correction Brackets ($100)...lack of power is really not an issue at all...the geo brackets helped...3.21 gears, not even considering re-gearing...~16 mpg...also, this is my DD, only get off road a few weekends a year.

Make zero mods, roll through the college campus in a wrangler, ride some trails, get some chicks and save your money for beer and pizza...

I've got 33s. Do I wish I had 35s? Absolutely. Am I glad I went with 33s? Absolutely. A few things were the deciding factor for me.

33s are much simpler. Basically just bolt them on and go. Fit the stock tire carrier, not even the slightest concern with re gearing (3.21), still gets decent MPG, and my Jeep goes off road maybe twice a year.

Not hyjacking the thread, I'm just curious If you're still on the stock axles with your 37s? That's my next move and I'm debating waiting until several years while I save for Dynatrac 60s, or if some chromoly shafts and guessets would suffice on the front D30.

Here's my front D44 on 37s. Any questions? See what I did there
