Default Thinking about Summer already...

So I won't have much time to play around in the winter due to my job, so I am already thinking ahead towards summer. I am trying to save up for some bigger mods (i.e. lift, exhaust) but want to feel the warm air on me in the summer. So I have already taken a look at some bikini tops and picked one that I liked. I think I am going to go with the Pocket Island Top from Rugged Ridge. I plan on keeping the bikini top on all summer until I have to leave my jeep at the pier for a while. So I have a few questions about what I should do with the interior. (Sorry in advance if some of these questions have already been answered.)

1. Carpet removal. Is it possible in a 2010 rubicon unlimited? I have read a couple of different things and am not sure if it is because of some glue that was used in production.

2. If it is possible, should I just keep the carpet out and line the interior? Or just take it out for the summer? Don't want any rusting to start.

3. If I do, how loud will it be? I eventually want to switch out the headers and exhaust. Also, how much cooler/warmer will it be?

Thanks for all your help. Bear with me, I am still pretty new to the Jeep world. First one that I own and I just want to treat her right.

The carpet comes off. On the front seat area a small inch wide strip surrounding the seat bracket has to be ripped/cut , but don't worry about it, it tucks back in place when you re-install the carpet. Lining would be nice if it were factory option. Another option instead of a bikini/ safari top is a mesh top or web enclosure. Take the doors off and have fun!

Thanks!

Have you personally taken out the carpet? What do you think of the heat/cold issues and the sound?

When it gets above 80, roof, doors, carpet shed and the jeep is naked. Eventually I'm going to line it. Heat is fixed with shorts and Spiderweb shade; cold with jacket and blanket; sound is stereo. Theres nothing like driving in a naked Jeep!

I pull all my carpet on my 08 unlimited in spring. I keep the floor mats in place just to prevent kids from slipping (floor is slick when wet) Sound isnt an issue because top and doors are already off also and the mud terrains hum. I have been caught in several rain storms like this, the seats dry quickly and because theres no carpet to hold in the moisture the floors dry quick too. I have a cat back exhaust also. Not very loud to begin with and the muffler is in stock location so no extra heat under floorboards. I would keep carpet out in winter but it does help to deaden the sound and keep heat in when top/doors are on.
