thinking of building SARGE's bumpers.
well in the (attach file ) i added earlier you can see that i whant to weld a hitch mount so i can mount a winch on a adapter plate to go on the hitch hole. so i can remove it '' easily '' to put in the front and the back. and its gona be bether for the winch to be off in winter i guess. ant i plan on making those corner rounder ... to dangerous like that.

Enterprise Custom Products will be making shackles that look almost identical to those used by the Sarge J8! They had them on display at SEMA this year...here is the link to pictures provided by this forum:

the front bumper looks like a easy day....it looks to be a tj bumber with some shackles bolted to the factory jk locations for mounting....the rear looks like angle iron.....
someone on the forum....either last week or the week before posted a thread and attached a tj bumper to his jk.....

well ok so i think no one really like the look of the sarge's bumpers.

Are you talking about actually attaching the sheet to the bumper AND the tub? You cannot do that, as the two move independantly of each other. The tub is mounted to the frame with rubber mounts and will flex independantly of the frame. You are talking about making a valance panel. The proper way is to attach it to the tub, and run it just in front of the rear bumper, leaving a space wide enough to avoid contact with the bumper under any conditions. Valance panels are a body part, not a frame part.
In Theater we usually just run with lights on so we can keep our speed up. They were originally designed so that convoys could run together in the dark with out having lights that could attract aircraft to attack. We don't really need them now, as the taliban and al-quaida don't have any aircraft.
The front bumper looks like it is just the inner shell of the stock bumper cut down, it is VERY thin. As for the rear, as mentioned above it is just some 6" C channel, you may not need to weld the hitch on if you have a stock one (there is a crossmember it is bolted to), just 2 mounting plates down the sides of the frame rails.
