Thinking of selling RIP Supercharger...
It was always an original plan to pay the jeep off, then swap a hemi in. But I was really hoping Kenne Bell or another manufacturer would pull through. Guess I'll just keep waiting to hear more positives.....
Off topic - I have an old classic stang for sale too. If you like the muscle car era.

OK so no offense but I'm pretty sure this is WAY of topic....wrong thread... for that matter wrong forum

SO TO GET BACK ON TOPIC
Here is a quote of what I've told others who have asked why I got rid of my RIPP SC...
"The RIPP supercharger never hit above 5 psi, even after their 500 mile break-in period....When it did hit 5 psi the Jeep's computer went into "limp" mode and you then have to turn the ignition off then on again (this happened a couple of times merging in with traffic...I was pissed), it goes into limp mode because of the "mass air flow" (boost) it is receiving (this is a problem with ALL superchargers for JK's)
...on another note, I started to have numerous problems "pop-up". The Jeep would randomly loose fuel pressure upon start up causing it to start then stall (not a confirmed "RIPP" related problem). Then when at idle for 5-10 min the computer would put it into limp mode just sitting there (very frustrating going down hills on the trails)...also not a confirmed "RIPP" related problem...just "happened" to be going on after supercharger was installed.
I have a good friend at Jeep, he's a head mechanic at my stealership...so while all of these things are going on we're replacing every component it could have been with no change, and he's covering everything on warantee...lucky me...during all of this we are speaking with Ross at RIPP and jumping through all of the hoops of what it could be on the SC's end...also with no change...
We suggested it was RIPP's piggy back computer at fault, they said there was a 1 in 100 chance it was that, and kept blaming MY Jeep....they wanted me to ship the box to them anyways to test it, but by this point I was tired of the SC and instead got a hold of Dan at Burnsville to change out the whole thing...
Supercharger's are sensitive, any SC...to water, mud, sand, etc....and I'm not the most "careful" wheeler, especially when everything gets done...that was another reason.
With Burnsville the swap is running around $21,000 with shipping....if you do it yourself with a used HEMI and tranny I've seen folks come in under $12,000...for me I went with them because of their experience
Also what sweetened the deal is Dan will sell any and all things I can't use with the HEMI (SC)
...I'm not one to bad mouth them because technically I didn't give them the proper chance to fix it...I was just fed UP...
In my opinion going naturally aspirated is the way to offroad if it's an option...I wouldn't get another SC...ever....even on the HEMI
...feel free to ask more questions!"

That clip is awesome, I am guessing you guys just finished dynoing it, as you have the factory wheels/tires on it.....What did it put down for numbers??
No I do not have a gauge on it.
It does wake up that small motor 3.8 and I REV the shit out of it
It allows me to cruise 80 on the freeway at ease in overdrive running 40s with 5.38 gears
I do like the Hemi
The cost goes Up fast though because to do it right you should swap axles.
I always recommend 60s if you are going to run 37s or bigger and actually are planning to wheel the rig ,and not worry about breaking.
If your just looking to get to the MALL quicker the Hemi and stock axles will get you there and back just fine
The main thing is use the Jeep and have some fun .

Ok, spent some more quality time with my JK and the RIPP. Really, I have put on about 400 miles, but have never been one to be "that guy" and just floor it everywhere, spodes do that. SO, I found that the real power very linear and smooth comes on at about 3k and as long as you stay in it, but not floored, even 50% throttle I can feel the power just build. Nothing neck snapping or giddy, but smooth. Is it better than stock, yes. Is it the shizz... well we are all different.
I am starting to appreciate the RIPP and for sure the timng was good then bad when it came down to a financial decision... we all make them. Dont BS yourself. Unless you live in So. Cal., then reality is out the window. So, as I was saying. I started this thread with not many miles put on it, but with more ECU readings of the RIPP and the same red lights stopped at daily and roads driven, life is a bit better. It makes a cool noise, but not gonna stay in it to have a ton of blow off valve to turn someones head. lol
I will go back to what I was eluding too, I was going to sell initially due the fact that I tried it. Its good, but need to get somewhat of it back as things change and yadda yadda. Read into it if you want. Not sugar coating anything for RIPP to re-sell it. Its on, it works rather good and a bit better with learning it and using it when we need it. Again the highway stuff is good and higher RPM's it sings vs. the HESCO it sounds, which rocks down low. 2 differ set ups and two differ strong points. I have been traveling a bit trying to get ready for 2009 season, so have not been able to get RIPP off of Jeep and reboxed to sell. Again not a huge priority, but if someone wanted to buy it with Boost Methanol thing included... entertaining offers (my "A" tech at he Jeep dealer now knows what to expect install wise and says half the time to install). I love my JK.. especially being down South! Doors and top are off, more than on. we need another "Show your Guns and JK" thread... could sell a afew and put Hemi in easily, but would rather save for that special moment!
