Third brake light
I know some of them can be picky though. I replaced the amber service lights on the top of the cab on my RAM with clear lenses and white lights and I was stopped the next morning on my way into work (lights on). No white lights allowed above the windshield!
So I changed out the white bulbs with amber and took it in for inspection... Sheesh.

Never had an issue with Virginia's finest, but of course they have alot more on their minds than ticky tac 3rd brake light rules .... like catching bad guys.

I have my light behind my spare and have been pulled over in about 5 states with it and no cop has ever said anything about my tail light.....as long as it works and as long as you can see it then it is fine....the other thing is most police officers will not know if you car came with a third brake light or not even if you cut it off and didn't even have a third brake light.

It's weird, but only one bolt hole in my wheels is centered on a spoke (see the start of this thread). The rest of the holes are slightly off center, so the wheel, when mounted on the spare rack is off to the left by a half inch. Weird, ain't it?

If I mount the thrid brake light square and level, it'll be off center in the spoke hole that it shines through. And since I'm an old, anal S.O.B., that will just plain drive me nutzed...
I cut mine off right at the top of the tire carrier and cut the top part so the light will be level, its as short as can be so it can clear my 15in rims in the back. It lights the whole inside of the tire up nicely so i think it is actually easier to see after the mod. But, good luck with the law, it all depends on the mood of the officer.
