I have to check on my gears, will probably have to jack it up and spin the tires / look at the drive shaft kind of thing.

Right now, I am leaning toward a Teraflex leveling kit, flat fenders, and 34's. If I can swing it, will add some skids or rocksliders (or both). Based on what I have read, I think that will all fit and hopefully not rub. It is kind of in between but should give me more clearance and a larger tire without being so tall as to upset the wife (or upset her too much).

Then it will be gears and lockers and, and, and, and......... you all know the drill it never really stops I suppose....

It's really not bad around town, but as for the highway...the overdrive off button will become your friend

The diff between 33's and 35's is more than just the tyre diam...

You don't need a huge lift either if you bump stop correctly and flat flares... think LOCG... which is not a bad idea for a shorty... they can feel quite tippy on the steep stuff but because of the shorter wheel base can have advantages on the trail with the belly.

But going 35's means you should really be thinking about doing some if not all of the following especially if you wheel it hard:

New drive shafts front and rear.
Stronger axles (especially the D30).
Re-gear to 4:88 for manual and 5:13 for the auto.
If you’re keeping the D30 you may want to gusset the C's etc.

Before you know it going up to 35's has just cost you an extra couple of grand...

Keep the 33's a good set of lockers, the correct gearing and some decent skids...

Pick your lines and you will get the JK a lot further than you others may think... practice is the key...

Do you have any pics of your setup? I would like to see the look. Thanks

I run 33's and have found that I usually have to take a different line than guys with bigger tires, but I still am able to get through without getting stuck, most of the time. I make good use of my skids and rock rails! There is some advantage to 33's. Since my Jeep is my daily driver, and I commute 350 miles a week, I get a little better mpg than if I had 35s or bigger, and they are lighter. I only have a 2 1/2" spacer in the front to compensate for the weight of my winch and front bumper. Otherwise, my suspension is stock.

you saw mine alfy, i have 3:21's did it look like i dogged at all?? I yanked that knocked down tree the hell out of the trail and made it over everything that all the other jeeps did. 33's a leveling kit and qd's would be perfect for what your are going to be doing with your jeep. remember a stock jeep is more than capeable.
