for those who have done the esp shutoff
the thing where one opens up the purple wire to shut off power to the accelerometer; any problems? does it set an error code in the computer?

I have had mine done for about a month or so now and have not turned it back on since i did the mod. I ran the sequence way of life showed us to pull up the DTC on the dash display and nothing showed up. I have had no adverse affects since i did it.

Just thinking (and maybe a little too hard),
Does that same accelerometer that triggers ESP also trigger the airbags? I understand that at times when you would want to disable the ESP, you probably don't want the airbags to deploy in the case of a significant jarring of the front bumper -- but if you switch it off and forget to switch it back on, do you have airbags?
Sorry to 'jack the thread, but I've been considering this mod for a while and am wondering exactly what systems it affects beyond ESP.

You aren't cutting power to the accelerometer. You basically cut the wire and that fools the computer into thinking a sensor or other component of the traction control has went bad thus shutting off the system
