Default Tie Rod and Drag Link Upgrade question...

what aftermarket tie rod and drag link upgrade will work with my 15" wheels? I do not need to flip the drag link since i'm only at 2.5" of lift.

You do not want to do a drag link flip at 2.5" of lift. You will have no up travel in the suspension if you do. 3.5"+ is when you should be thinking of doing the flip.

You can do a tie rod up grade if you feel you need it, it has nothing to do with a flip.

Fitting aftermarket tie rods and drag links on 15" wheels will depend on the wheel back spacing. If you are at 4" or less bs you should be fine with most after market tre's

I would recommend synergy for the tie rod and drag link.

If you can weld, then the ruff stuff tie rod kit is a no brainer at $125

Yes, I wasn't planning on flipping the drag link.

My wheels have 4" of back spacing. So, they should be ok with most aftermarket tie rods? What about those who use 1 ton TRE's?

i had 15's with 3.75 BS and there was no room back there for most aftermarket TRE's. I looked at the Ruffstuff kit ahead of time and there was no way their ends would ever come close to fitting with 15's.

To my knowledge, Synergy's TRE's should fit with 15's, but some will require swapping to a smaller Moog replacement TRE.

I just installed a synergy tie rod with 15" mb72s and 3.75" backspacing. Didn't think it was going to fit when held it up there by hand. It does clear the wheels but not by much.

can you take a closer picture of the space between the TRE and your wheel?

I ended up swapping the 15's for 17's and now I run the ruffstuff tie rod.

Dirtman is right on with everything he said.

We run the Synergy Drag Link and Tie Rod. Everytime we went wheeling we had to adjust the factory drag link and it bends very easy. Since we installed the Synergy drag link the steering wheel never changes. PM us if you are looking for a quote.
