Default Time for a v8

2007 jku Rubicon 80,000 miles, great condition.
Being a chevy guy I started thinking of a ls 6.2 and a 6l80.
After reading about it I think the 6.4 hemi with the 8hp70 is the better choice for me.
Engine and transmission from Ebay ?
Conversion kit from AEV?
Aftermarket radiator....
241j transfer case will be the weak spot. Anyone have experience with the Atlas TC with the stock dana 44 front axles?
I know I'll need to upgrade the front springs. The coil springs are stock. The combined weight of the new v8 and the rugged ridge front bumper and warn winch is over 300 lbs more than the stock springs are designed for.
Body off frame for conversion. Restore frame.
What other issues should I expect? Thanks.

Atlas are good for offload and not so good for long trips on the highway due to oiling/heating. One of our forum members has an article on a failed Atlas. The 241J transfer case is fairly strong and will take V8 power. For the application I would run the 5.3 Chev/8L90 like I am ready to run with. Not too hard on the drive train and I bought a 16000mile engine, transmission, harness, ECU/TCU for $3500. Engine had all accessories. Yes even with the 5.3 I had to install springs and I did the LCA all around -went MC brand.

Pretty sure there is a similar build thread around here -- Just found it for you -- This one is a 392 Hemi...

Ps after talking to AEV I've learned that the 545rfe is the best choice.

Do it right the first time and get a C & R Radiator. Most of the others will leak! The newer AEV kits likely will come with one. Pony up and get the full swap kit. There are several Folks on these forums who have worked hard to build their own but lots of bugs to iron out. I went with the full AEV system , WA580 trans & a 6.4 Hemi. I had one issue ever with it and 36000 miles trouble free. You will love the conversion. I went with a Pro Rock 44 front, chrome moly axles rear and my driveline held up fine wheeling everything the Jeep would clear with 35" tires.

For good GM combo with LS power you might consider Motech. Home They offer turnkey or DIY kits.

NO issue with a Atlas, any TC can fail but saying that a Atlas isn't good for long trips is just silly.
241j can be used but if your going to a V8 likely your going to use it and have a built JK on 37-40's...ya better have a Atlas or eq TC.
