Default Tips? Bushwacker Flats Install

Just got the Bushwacker Flat Flares for my JK 4-door. I'm going to install myself. Anyone got any tips for me?

I've heard it takes awhile & to plan on 6-8 hours to do them all. Ive read through the step-by-step instructions & it seems that marking & trimming the liners is a big PITA.

The only problem I had during the install of my flares was the nylock nuts seized on the bolts, which caused some problems. I started putting a little oil on the ends of the bolts before threading the nuts and problem resolved.

I just installed the flat fenders on my rig. I didn't use any more rivits than what came with the kit. The install was easy but took about 6 hours. Very time consuming. Marking and cutting the the wheel well plastic was simple. I used a sawzall and it worked great. Just take your time and follow the instructions. I am super happy with them. Good luck

I just put mine on last week. Most important thing is to play close attention when cutting inner fender Wells for re-install. If you don't do it right, it will look like sh**.

Thanks for the tips & the link! The write-up was pretty helpful & seemed to simplify the original instructions. It looks like they come with the plastic retainers (I'll have to double-check the bag when I get home) so ruining or losing a few of the stock clips shouldn't be an issue. If not, I guess I could buy extras to be on the safe side, but not sure where I could order these or what specifically to call them.... "plastic fender clips" maybe?

Straight forward install. Cutting the inner flares correctly is a must. Side note:if one of the lights doesn't work black to black/white to white, reverse the wires. No big deal.

x2 on both of these. Check the light wiring early in the process so you know if they are reversed or not. I went and got more hardware altogether. I tested the nuts and bolts with oil since I had heard bad things prior too, and half of them seized on themselves even though I was being gentle. all new bolts and no problem. cutting the liners is easy, just do like they say and you'll be fine.
