I'm running the Or-Fab non-can version and love it. Install is a bit of a pain but the final product is beefy. Plenty of threads out there for this carrier.

I just installed the Smittybilt SRC Oversize Tire Carrier with 35" BFG Mud Terrains and was very skeptical given the price. I talked to the sales reps and said I would pay more if they could explain why another one was better. They said they sell the hell out of these and don't get many back. When I opened it up, I was surprised by the weight and finish of the material. I am not a Smittybilt fan generally. For $139, I think it's a nice carrier since I already bought bumpers and could not retrofit them. The 35s fit on there great and I'm very pleased so far.

The only issue I have is that it's really easy to get the tire off if you wanted to steal it. There is a small hole for a lock and you would definitely need a lock right away. I found one that fits but it's pretty small given the hole in the carrier assembly so a cable might be needed as a backup.

Default ARB with Tire Carrier

If you look at the NorthRidge 4X4 site you will see that they have an ARB tire Carrier Expansion option. Maybe it only works with the new models.

I consider one of two options with 35" tires
AEV Bumper with Tire Carrier and AEV Savegre black wheels or
Poison Spyder rock brawler with Tire Carrier and Hutchinson Rock Monster black (if they fit)

Why? Poison Syper Bumper has a spot for integrated back up lights which is a positive but as a negative will not fit with stock wheels or AEV wheels (need to see about the hutchinson)

Anybody got experience with the Poison Spyder RockBrawler Bumper?

look into the genright tire carrier. Its about 600 for the steel version, but it installs easier than the or-fab and looks better IMO

I layed mine face down in the back of my jku front side down eventually I will make a mount so it cant come out or someone cant steal it . I just use a bung cargo net to hold in all my crap on top of the tire when I go camping. at this time I havent done anything as far as the vent on the tailgate cause I took off my tire carrier but eventually my plate or my hi lift jack will cover that. I did fill the holes on the tailgate with rubber grommet style plugs.
