I've ran the Toyos (38's on my CJ), ans I'm currently running the Nittos and I love them. When I movr up to 37's, it'll be Nittos. If you don't mind noise, I highly recommend them. the Toyos are very good also and very quiet, if you mind noise, I would recommend them.

I have BFG now and I have had Toyo in the past and as far as I am concerned you can't go wrong with either tire. I think the BFG might be a little cheaper and more available so that could have something to do with it's popularity.

So far I think they wear normal, haven't had them that long, about 3 months now I guess.

I had BFG MT KM1, they were good in the mud, fairly quiet on the street (although a lot louder than the BFG AT's) decent in the sand, good in DEEP snow, excellent hydroplaning resistance, and fair with wet roads...

I LOVED the look of the tread and miss that. (Although the KM2's also look very good).

Overall I was happy with the tire and would have a lot of confidence in another set of the KM1's or even the KM2's.

Here's some 285-18"s 32.6" tall or so.
Nitto Terra Grappler with 1.25" wheel spacers.

They have a great street ride and do well on dirt trails.

I'm not a rock crawler so i can't help you there.

From past experience BFG All Terrain are the best compromise of street and offroad.

But the Nittos look great on my Jeep and I do 95% highway driving. Great highway ride with these tires. I bought them because the stock Bridgstones were just wimpy looking.

Wow thanks for all the advice!

but i gotta say it didn't help me pick one out of so many good choices.

Im still kinda stuck on the Toyos. I love the look and haven't heard a bad remark yet. From where i have looked they are cheaper or about the same as the BFG kms at about 250 a tire. Also looking at sizes. I went with 16" wheels because i like having more tire out there but 15"s seem a little weird looking to me. Some places i find have BFG 315/75R16 and some dont. Most all places i looked have the Toyos in that size.

I have the Nitto Terra's now and I hate them, I am now going to be upgrading to these.
Not too much noise, good wear and still an MT tire.

I spent last week with the owner of the first set of KM2's to come off the line. He's still testing them for BFG. He's the owner of 4 Wheeling America and spends 60% to 65% of his driving time off road. He has 20,000 miles on them, has never rotated them (as per BFG request) and they still have 40% tread on them. With the thought that off roading is twice as tough on tires as on the road, I don't think wear is going to be an issue with them. Sure makes me glad I'm running them. They sing a little on the road, but it's not very load. I too like the sound. They can ride a little rough, but you can regulate that with the pressure.

What do you hate about the Nitto's? I've been considering them.
My brother has the Mickey's on his TJ - (33x12.5) LOUD AS HELL!
However, they will go any where and they wear really good.

Go with the KM2's. BFG has the good off-road reputation for a reason. My factory KM's have 20k and still
over half tread (95% hwy). Its a mud tire - the grip is amazing and the noise is accectable. KM2's can only be better.
