Default Tire holder question?

Will a 285/70 17 mud tire fit on the back holder?

Don't see why not, most people can get a 35" tire on which is a 315/70/17. Not saying that a tire that big is good for the factory tire carrier but people do it and make it work.

you shouldn't have a problem. alot of people run their 35's on the stock carrier. It's not good for the tailgate, I went and bought an over sized tire carrier from smitty bilt for 100 and ran my full size spare in Moab with no problems!

depends on how big the 35" is. 35" rockers measure well over 35" and even with the decreased backspacing of AEV rims they're not fitting on the stock carrier.

Ask me how I found out.

Do any of you think I would have a problem with my 305/65-17 BFG AT KO/ aftermarket wheel on my stock carrier? If so, is there anything that can easily be done to strengthen it?
