Thanks.
Don't bother with all of the math, just go out to that tire mfg's website and look at the specs list. It tells you what the specs are for every single tire they produce.

As far as fitment goes, open up the FAQ's stickied to the top of this modified area.

The mfg's specs or the faq's? The mfg's can't possibly know, or even care. The FAQ's? Have you bothered to look?

That's a fine FAQ but If u look at a tire chart a 285 (33 inch tire) requires a minor fender trimming which in all reality = a fender rub because it bypassed stock specs and results in modification.

I'm not trying to argue, but there will always be 2 sides to a coin and many diff places to research with diff results.

Default Tire Calculator

I ran across this tire calculator that works pretty well. You can enter the stock size and then four other sizes and does a comparison of them.
Hopefully this link is ok to put on here.

I'm running 285/75-17 on the standard rims and it only rubbed on the swaybar at full turns. After I installed my lift, no more rubbing.

And that's what I was trying to point out! Anything above a 275 will need a light mod to reduce or take away the rub. I understand I'm a "newbie", but I have do have some knowledge. It's all good, all and any feedback is helpful!

If I look at what tire chart?

Guess I'm confused on what you are looking for. A 'perfect' chart that has every conceivable variable factored in for every single tire and vehicle on the market, along with information on various lift heights, and weight for every added component, since that affects lift height, and... ?

We all know there are a huge amount of variables, and nobody can give a definite answer. All I am saying is that the faq's are a GREAT place to start. They are based on past experience with the JK, not any other model or version of jeep, and not any type of full sized truck, or whatever. Jk specific information will always be better than some generic chart you find online somewhere.
