Default Tire Recommendations?

So I'm starting to look into upgrading to an all terrain tire from the tires on my stock '13 Freedom Edition with 3.73s. The eventual plan is to do an AEV 2.5" and tires on the stock wheels. I'm thinking of doing 33" tires just because to me the 2.5" lift looks best that way. I originally wanted to do 35" tires, but it seems like between the 2.5" and the stock wheels it'd be a bit of a stretch. In all honesty most of my time is spent on the highway commuting. A buddy of mine has Duratracs and I really like the look of them, but I don't know how they perform. Do you guys have any other suggestions?

There really isn't much of a difference in 35's or 33's on stock wheels- typically both of them are the same width- height plays no factor in that equation.

Height plays into how much bumpstop you'll be adding for the taller tires (regardless of lift height).

To your question though- duratracs seem to do well most everywhere. You could try a light variant of the tire and go with the fierce attitude or the kelly safari tsr. If you're looking for a tire to last as long as the duratrac then the bfg all terrain may be for you....though it won't perform as well as the duratrac when you get into the mud and such.

If you do any wheeling, 35s make a big difference over 33s.

2.5" lift, 35's, wheel spacers and stock wheels would be just fine. 3.73 wouldn't be bad at all with the newer engine (i have 3.21's and dd 60 miles a day).

I actually just went through this same thought process last week as I am a new JK owner. I decided on the AEV 2.5" lift with Geo location brackets and 315/70R17 Duratracs. So far I am quite happy with the results.

Consider BFG 285/75/17 these are 33.9" and narrower than the 12.5" (11.2") if you are concerned with tires sticking out of the wheel well or better fit on the rims.

X2. Tires sit right at the edge of the fenders on the stock wheels WITHOUT wheel SPACERS.
Won't be able to participate in the POST YOUR 35s thread though.
