Default Tire and Speedometer

I recently purchased my first jeep, 2012 Wrangler Sport 2 door. The dealership had already put the lift and wheels/tires on prior to me purchasing the Jeep. My speedometer is off about 10 mph, which I expected. However Im only getting 11 mpg. Is this normal with the bigger tires (305/70/18)? Is there something with the gear ratio that needs to be done? The dealership said they would try to get the speedometer issue rectified, I just want to walk in and at least appear to know what Im talking about. I apologize in advance for sounded mechanically dumb. Any help would be appreciated.

you NEED to recalibrate your speedometer. this will not only correct what you see on the dash, it will also correct your shift points and give you an accurate mpg reading. i would highly recommend that you get an aev procal to address this problem as it is cheap and will get the job done.

X2.... The dealership charges $130 to calibrate the speedometer so you might as well spend it on a procal...

not only do they charge $130, they can only recalibrate to a 32" tire.

Do these void your warranty?

no, but then again, dealerships can void your warranty for anything they want. if you're worried about it, you can remove the programming before you take your jeep back into the dealership.

You mean remove it to where it is not visible to their computers? Can you do this with other programers as well? Sorry for all the questions, a little scared about the warranty on my 2012..

The AEV Procal is well worth the cash outlay believe me.
