Default Tire weight difference

So I'm pondering on going with 15" x 38" mud grapplers for my next tire purchase...just wondering how much these things are gonna weigh. I have 35" bfg mt's right now, and have no problem at all with the speed/quickness. Just wondering how much the bigger nitto's will slow me down...anybody know what the tires weigh?

its a heavy tires. without doubt you will feel a difference as bfg's are one of the lighter tires. you will need to re gear and beef up or replace your axles.

Yeah, I plan on regearing and putting on some C's and sleeves. Wish I could afford to go ahead and upgrade axels...gonna be a long while before that's possible though.

is there a reason you specifically want 38's. i know they would look great but a 37 may be a little easier. if you do go 38's try and pick up a spare set of axle shaft just in case.

- it would be a cheaper tire
- little less weight
- often come up for sale on the forum

....just a thought.

if you go on the TireRack website and look at the specs it will tell you the weight of each tire based on its size. I know they have BFGs, GoodYears, Kumho, General and others. But I dont think they carry any of the more hardcore offroad tires.

I've looked at it before and determined that 15" tires are actually lighter than 17 or 18" tires. So, even though I'd like to stay with 17s, I'm probably going to go with some lightweight 15s with alloys.

I would, but they don't offer 37s for a 15" wheel....weird, right?? The 38s are only really around 37.66" or so...
