Default Tire/Wheel/Backspacing

I have an '08 4-door X.

I am looking to get 17" pro comp wheels (7089) with 5.5 lug pattern and run nitto terra grapler tires 33 x 12/50. Backspacing 3.75.

Will this set-up work?

(and yes, I am a newbie...sorry if this question is lame!)

A couple of things.

First of all, the lug pattern for JKs is 5 on 5, not 5.5. Very important and makes a big difference.

Second of all, if you get the 7089s in a 17x8, the backspacing is 4.5 in.; the 17x9 gets you 4.75in. of backspacing. Either one is fine. I've never seen one with 3.75in.

Not lame. Much of the after-market equipment you'll find for the JK has specs like the 5 on 5 lug pattern, backspacing, etc. Most of the retailers out there (with the exceptions being those on this forum like David at Northridge) have no clue what you need to buy; so it's important that you know exactly what you need to get before you go get it. That way no one will order the wrong parts or try to feed you mis-information.

You'll find that this forum is an excellent resource for valuable information. One such example is our Sexy Girl and JK thread. Excellent source of valuable information!
