Default Tire and wheel sizes ????

Well I have had my JK for about 2 months. It is a stock Sahara 4 door with the 18 inch chrome wheels. I pulled in to beef joint to meet my daughter for lunch, and it happened A young girl with a orange crush parks next to me!! She had what looks to be a 3inch lift and 35 inch tires with the black rims. I almost wet myself Not really but it makes the story seem more exciting I gotta say it looked awesome!! So now I need to get things jacked up so I can get into the game!!!
What is the most common size tire and wheel combo being used for a daily driver?????

Most common is probably 17" wheels, you will see plenty of tire options there. You can run 15" wheels but tire size usually tops out at 35s then. Other than that, it's just a matter of the look you want and how deep your pockets are.

33s are best for a DD. Once you get to 35s, you need to think about re-gearing and strengthening your axle. Again, it's all about the look you want, the gas mileage you will accept and how much you want to spend.

I dd 35's in my 2012 with manual and 3.21's. On road isn't terrible, but looking to regear soon, crawling isn't easy offroad. I put a pure jeep truss and gusset on my front d30 for about $200, that includes the $50 I gave a guy to weld it. My gas mileage went from 18-21 to 15-16z I wouldn't change it for the world.... Except for 37's

You can do a LOT with a jk on 2.5" budget boost and 35's. My cost to go from stock to this was around $2050, but you could spend $2000 just on a lift if you wanted. The budget boost get me thru plenty of black trails and is fine for me on road. 15" wheels will make tires about $100 cheaper each, but don't do it of you want to go 37's.

So loosing my 18's and going to smaller size on the wheel could save me some money and give me more tire size options? Interesting. When I bought my JK, I opted for the heavy tow package with the 3.71 rearend, so I should be O.K. on that end. I am probably going with a 2" level lift.

Well 18" to 15" will certainly save money. Go online and look at tire options for 15's

15s defiantly save money but I you think you'll ever go to 37s I wouldn't do it like someone mentioned above. I have 35s on 15 inch wheels and I don't regret it

Yeah, you can get 37's on 15", choices are just very limited

17's seem to be the widest variety and cost is relatively low.

I'm running 35x12.5x20 on some XD wheels and they are unreal expensive... I"m about to move back down to a 17.

Meh I don't consider $350 for 35" km2's on 17's relatively low that being said, 17" IS probably the most popular

I went with Teraflex leveling kit, stock rubicon shocks and springs with 285/70/17 Goodyear MTR's. Aggressive looking, good ride quality, gas mileage didn't suffer much and no rubbing even at full lock.
