I ran 285/75/16 with no problems. Still run them with 2.5" OME lift and it looks alright.

I run a 315/75/16 bighorn on the stock 16" steel wheels. Seems to do good so far.

With that question I am assuming you are asking what is the biggest tire you can put on a stock wheel with out any mods? No lift or anything? With that being said I'd say a 265/75/16 is going to be the biggest with out any fear of rubbing. A 285 will fit and depending on how tall and wide the tire actually is it may or may not rub off-road. If your just talking on-road I would say a 285 would be ok.

The FAQ's are generally a good place to start.

https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...74&postcount=3

Q: What is the biggest size tire I can fit on my stock Jeep JK Wrangler?
Q: What is the biggest size tire that I can I fit with a 2.5" Budget Boost?
Q: What back spacing will I need on my wheels in order to clear 12.50 wide tires?
Etc...

With no lift, no wheel spacers and no trimming, a 33x10.50 (or metric equivalent) is as big as you'll want to go.
