I'm not a tire expert but I've been doing a ton of reading on the subject...

You have 16" wheels, 75 is the width of the rim/tire is 75

So it should fit rim wise

The fit issue would probably be whether or not you had the clearance in the wheel well for the height/diameter of the wheel and if it will rub when you turn

No, that's not quite right.

295 is the width in MM and 75 is the width to height aspect ratio, 16 is the wheel diameter. That makes them rougly 33.4" x 11.6"

Yes, obviously they will fit the wheels but you would need to be worried more about weather or not they will rub. Do you have a lift at all?

I'm thinking you will need spacers to keep them from rubbing at full turn.

I'll second that.

I have 285/75R16's on stock steelies on my JK and there is no rubbing at all. So you should be okay. I have a 2" lift also.
