Plan on getting some EVO Axle Gussets up front. Do you plan on getting 60's in the future? If so, you may not want to put too much money into your 44's.

This Jeep is a lifer, so yes 60's will be a good ways down the road.

Right now my top 3 list for ASAP stuff is body lift, EVO gussets, and to sell my old set of tires leaving me money to save for a new bumper with carrier (anyone know of a bumper+carrier system that allows 38" tires?)

Xenon or PSC flares would be nice but I think everything above comes first If I stuff the hell out of the stock flares, so be it. Maybe I'll just run w/out flares on heavy trail days.

You may want to get Flashpaq and exhaust.

The 3.8L is going to need all the help it can get to spin those muthas

And above all, if you hit the heavy snow take it easy on your driveline.

Definately think you will need a BL, and as you stated it would be much easier to do before installing those tires. Order it ASAP!

Lookin forward to the pics.

One thing to remember is that a suspension lift only raises your ride height.

As far as tire clearance goes, it goes AWAY when you hit a bump/compress the suspension.

When the suspension compresses, the tire will rise, and hit what ever it would have hit WITHOUT the SL.

A BL makes room for larger tires, as does removal/modification of the fenders, to get them out of the way.

If you add extended bumpstops to keep the tire from rising, you are sacrificing uptravel.

Therefore, a BL (Or fender mod) allows more articulation when larger tires are involved.

Food for thought.

I have no issues with 35's and a 3.5in lift. I have XD Addicts with a 4.5 backspacing. I really don't like wheel spacers myself so if you could I'd get them as small as you could but I can't see a one inch wider tire than I'm running rubbing. I've looked at mine while the suspension is articulated and I'm thinking you have the room without them. You really only increase a half inch of width to the inside where you would rub...... if you would rub.Click image for larger version

Personally I would wait ont he body lift. And only do it as a last resort. The body lift will give you a higher center of gravity, and it puts more stress on the body mounts (can crack the body in those areas as well). I would go with the Xenon flares instead. If there are people running 37's with a 2.5" lift and xenons, you should be able to run 38's with a 4" and xenons with xero issues. Try to keep your center of gravity down, your roll cage will thank you

LOL

SL's raise the COG Waaaay more than a BL of the same height.

Modifying the fenders though to make room in the wells is the best solution from a performance standpoint.

Oh very true, however they also give you ground clearance, which is a very big benefit. A body lift doesn't give you any clearance. Sure it allows for larger tires, but thats it. It will not give you a better approach, departure, or break over angle.

SAJeep nice set up

I'm as high as I want to get with my 4" lift and D44's. My COG is pretty good considering the amount of lift I have, but really the Toyo's do a nice job of keeping everything anchored where it generally should be, heavy ass rubber isn't always a bad thing.

I'll keep the BL on standby, I'd rather be using a BL than wheel spacers, assuming that I'm having vertical clearance troubles, not lateral.

Now I just have to figure out a way to shell out $600 for xenon flats...Does anyone have a rec. vendor? I can't find one that is a sponsor on the forum.

I also just realized I have to drive up to northridge4x4 in Bremerton to get my gears done next month...David's gunna be surprised and I'll be burning gas like a MFr
