I have run the BFG AT... was a great beach tire. didn't like mud and rocks much. Also I didint' like the onroad wet ride. My toyota was hydroplaining bad... The Xterrains.. are the best tire I have driven on to date. Does well in the sand... mud... rocks.. It is the best wet road tire I have ever run.

I'm running that exact tire size with Procomp Xterrains. they're not great in the mud but they do great on everything else I've had them on so far. I would buy them again for sure.

I like the Goodrich T/A KO. Great all around tire. You can get ANY tire packed with too much mud and then what do you have? A slick tire. Get something that won't beat you to death or make you deaf ridin down the road.

There's a Toyota FJ with 295s (17s) at work. They look fairly large, but still seem too much like a street tire. I can't see how they could be good in deep snow or any slippery mud. Otherwise, I'm attracked to that size (bigger than typical 33). Plus, I want something at least as big as the FJ's tires...
