Default Tires: switching from C load range to D

Does it really matter? Reason I ask is that all of the tires I'm looking for in a 35" by 17 configuration all have a load range of D. The stockers on the Rubicon have a load range of C. I know it's best to stay in the same range as stock, but are you really going to notice a difference in on road and off road applications between the two?

Going from "C" to "D" not to bad at all. The "E's" is where it really starts getting harsh.

My Hankooks are way stiffer and they weigh 30 lbs EACH more than my BFGs. My mileage dropped 3 mpg.
