Default Tom Woods Driveshaft Question and Problem

I have a new rear driveshaft from TW and I'm think the new yoke and flanges are the wrong spline count and I have a balancer on the trnsfer case that comes off when I pulled the flange. TW isn't open today and I'm kinda stuck. Any help?

Did either of you ever get this resolved? I am looking at TW driveshafts for when I get my lift this summer. I've never changed one out and am a little aprehensive about doing it.

mines not a TW driveshaft and i think i know whats wrong.I'm going to work on it this weekend. I am pretty sure that the balancer stays off. and not all of the jeeps have these on there.

while a few jk's came with balancers, most do not. if you got a new replacement yoke, you need to leave the balancer off.

i got a tom woods rear shaft on my 2 door and it had a balancer on it.. i left it off and i have no vibrations that i can feel.. if you are getting vibrations, you need to readjust your contorl arms (if you can that is) to correct the pinion angle. if you put that balancer back on with the tom woods flange it will throw the balance of the driveshaft off because that balance was balanced with the stock driveshaft and the tom woods unit was balance without it..

i dont know if that makes sense, but for what its worth, i have a tom woods shaft and love it.. no vibes nothing.. but i would grease it before you put it in.. it is supposed to come pre-greased but a week after install it started to squeak so i greased the joins and shaft myself and there are no squeaks..

hope that helps.

I have woods 1350 rear and 1310 front. Yes I had to remove the harmonic balancer off the tcase i have clocked 140KM no vibrations

But when installed we did adjusted the pinion angles front and rear. All you have to do is just correct ur pinion angles in small increments test and try again. you will be just fine
