Default too soon to change diff fluid?

I am interested in putting Riddler Diff covers on. I have an 08 2dr X with 1900 miles on it. I know people have concerns about changing oil too early in the engine break in period, is their any worrys about changing the Diff fluid so early when I drain them to replace the covers?

Thanx in advance.

No worries, I filled my mine with synthetic.

No problems. Go ahead and switch to synthetic. I only have 7500 miles on my X, but I went ahead and switched to Mobil 1 synthetic just to have it.

You will notice fine metal in the oil when you drain it, and metal on the magnet, if you have one.
Don't be alarmed. This is normal from the new gears lapping in.
If you see pieces big enough to read part numbers, then you have a problem.

Change it now with no worries. After regearing, some people change it after 500 miles to get rid of the metal shaving from the gear breakin. Never hurts to upgrade to synthetic either. I use Royal Purple, but any will do.

I just changed mine at 5,000 miles and by the looks of the oil it was way overdue. Switched to Mobil 1 as well.

If you change it right now you will be amazed at the amount of metal in the oil, very fine, just gives a metallic sheen in the right light. I am convinced that with new gears you change early. I would have changed mine at 500 if I had known.

Change it! And definitely go to synthetic. I put riddlers on mine too when I changed the covers at about 3000 miles.

Never too soon, I'll be doing mine at 15K though and switching to ARB covers and Amsoil
