Default Which top to go with ???

I have a JKU soft top and about 70% of the time i have the top and doors off. With summer around the corner I doubt I'll be using doors or a top at all. Living in Texas can be great but the past summers have been super hot and I plan on this one to be very hot too. I wanna get a bikini top that covers the front and back seats but I cant decide. should I get the mesh version or the solid version ? And I don't know which brand to go with. I noticed bestop was more expensive does that mean it's a better quality ? Last longer? Any input would be great and help me with my decision. Thanks

I battled with the same question. Unfortunately your summers have the humidity whereas mine are just straight heat and 0% humidity. I looked at bikini tops, but ended up going with a Cargo Webbing net that covers the whole top back to the tailgate and the side windows.

I still get sun beating through, but it's only half as bad. More importantly it is extremely useful. Just my .02.

If you have to have a bikini, go with the bestop. Greater durability and ease of use IMO.

Mesh if you'd like more of a 'sunscreen' top. Solid if you want it to fully block the sun. Id get solid cause in ATL we get some insanely hot days, and Id want full coverage.

Some guys in my staging area just got some spiderwebshade. It's more of a tight mesh net. Id never heard if it until now but I am really strongly considering one. Google them and Check out their web site.

Get a solid bestop safari top. I have a mesh top and its somewhere in between having a top and not having a top. It doesn't help enough on really hot sunny days, and it doesn't help much if it rains.

That's exactly what I was thinking if the day is nice enough I won't have a top on anyways. And if it's too hot but don't want to put everything on it will be nice to just block the sun.

Definitely check out the SpiderWebShade. I picked up one because I was tired of getting sunburned on half of my face with the top off. It's fantastic! I picked up the Trailmesh one for my 2-door, and it keeps out most of the sun, but is mesh enough to not "flap" when you're driving on the highway. Can't say enough good things about it.

I've got the bestop full shade bikini top and its great..i bought door surrounds to make it water proof and today it rained pretty hard and not a single drop inside. Its a little tight getting it under the surrounds though. I also run the dustercover to protect my cargo area.
