Default Top off with tubular doors. Are side mirrors really necessary?

I'm thinking of getting tubular doors this summer and I am wondering if the side mirrors are really useful when the top is off. I am thinking that they probably are not but, I am just asking.

Here in NY we are required by law to have atleast the drivers side mirror but its basically useless considering i can see everything around me with no top or doors

i think if you don't mind looking over your shoulder every time you want to turn or back up then don't bother with mirrors.

with me i don't have a problem so i don't use them its all personal preference.

Well....I think so....but that's me.
In Texas - law says you must have at least one outside mirror to be street legal

regardless of the law, just get some anyways. it's always more fun to add more stuff on the jeep just sayin. oh and btw, you don't always get what you pay for. my wife got me the lange 2 quick release mirrors and they vibrate and whistle really bad, exchanged them for the rugged ridge quick release (half the price of the lange) and they work great. lange had great service though they tried to make it right by sending new mirror heads....still vibrated and whistled.

Forget about the legal issues - what do you plan to do when you are without mirrors? Wheel? If so, you don't need mirrors if you have a good spotter. If not.....
