i have the clicky model! luv it.

both have their good points and bad points.

accuracy over time with the beam type but difficult to read in awkward positions.

ease of use with the clicky type but who knows how accurate it is over time.

either way i would get the best they had to offer in the respective type.
truly, u get what u pay for. nothing like a failed tool on the trail. that usually means u have two failures-one for the tool and the other is the reason u needed the tool in the first place.

then again.....my winch is a 8K harbor frieght special edition so who am i to talk?
