Default Tow Hooks?

So I am going to start making a new bumper in the next few days and was debating on putting the old tow hooks on. I was wondering if anyone know how strong they were? They seem to be made out of cast iron. I could weld some padeyeys on but after taking of the plastic shell and running with the hooks I think they look cool.

I'm not sure what your fab skills are like, and what tools you have available, but if you've got the ability, I'd be tempted to put recovery points on - sort of like the LOD and Shrockworks bumpers have. Then you can put a 3/4" or 7/8" shackle on that point and you're good to go. No chance of a tow strap or winch line coming off.

my hooks have held up to ALOT...enough to snap a good chain when attempting to pull out a full size

I think I could come up with some type of shackles but I think the hooks like cool which is the only reason why I am thinking about keeping them.
