Anybody tow a pontoon boat with their Jeep unlimited ? We have a 20' pontoon and weights 2100 lbs completely full with everything in it. we are considering using the jeep to pull when we go camping with the fifth wheel.

Should be no issue with your unlimited, you have a 3500# rating.

What trim JKU do you have?

Rubicon with 4.10 gears.

Only concern is the wind drag having enough power to pull it

Manual trans and the newer 3.6L would help if you have also, but if not you can still get the job done. Nothing is fun to pull behind the JK.

I tow a 24' Bennington behind my '13. I have 5.13 gears.... slow and steady I won't tow over 65mph. As long as your trailer tongue weight is correct you'll be fine. Also, if you plan on using trailer brakes you'll need to wire up a 7 or 8-pin connecter.

Speed won't be your issue, it's stability. Also the stock brakes are marginal. Pontoon boats aren't very aerodynamic, so you have to worry some about the wind moving it around a bit. Other than that, as long as you've towed in the past, you'll be fine. I've towed quite a bit more with my lifted 2dr on 35s. Far from unsafe, they just aren't great tow vehicles.
