Default TOYO M/T's

Interested in these and what there Off-road Capabilities are like.
Do they self clean well? Do the push through mud and snow good? and everyone knows they're great on road but I'm looking for some real answers not some fabricated crap posted on Toyo's website
Thanks Joey

Great tire....currently have them on my Dodge ram 3500 CTD 4x4. My truck is not a urban 4x4 that wears a skirt and never see's dirt it's my daily commuter for forestry work so 70% dirt/gravel roads & 30% highway.

I have run MT Baja MTZ's, Dick Cepek FC II's, BFG A/T. The Toyo M/T rates the highest in my opinion for wear and off road capability. They are the quietess M/T tire I have run on the highway, excellent wearing tire (45,000km currently) and still 1/2 the tread left. As well the Toyo M/T is a great in tire in mud, gravel roads & Snow. Also, nice thing is they are a 10 ply tire and I have not gotten a flat or side wall puncture like the other tires listed above but that may happen as the tire wears down.

Drawbacks of the Toyo M/T's:

Heavy tire, Pricier than then most other M/T's on the market and they are not great on ICE especially if you get a 12.5" or wider tire.

The price maybe higher but you get better wear than the MTZ's- (40K - km toast). As well, the Toyo does not get chunked up lugs on gravel roads like the MTZ's which could be an issue for you for the Forestry/Oil & gas roads around the Edmonton area. I can't say anything bad about the BFG M/T KM2's as I have not tried them but other people seem to get good wear out of them.

I have been very pleased with the Toyo M/T's that once spring hits I will be getting a set for my wife's 08 JK Sahara.

I have had them for over 6 months maybe 10,000 miles and they are great and I agree with what the others have said. Have driven them in snow, offroading and cross country.

If you get them I would recommend doing a search for recommended PSI on them.

I am also considering these tires. One of the drawbacks mentioned is their weight. How do you notice that the MT handles, accelerates because of this? Compared to some of the tires mentioned. Other tires I am considering is the Goodrich and Goodyear tire(MTs). Thanks.

Check out the video on page 3 of this thread for snow run with Toyos

My silver JK has 35" Toyo MTs. I was happy with them in the snow. And later that day on my way home it was pouring rain in the lower elevations and I hit a large puddle of water on side of road at 60-65 MPH and although I was scared as HELL, the Jeep handled very well. They did well on the slickrock in Moab too. I would probably buy another set when needed. The best thing is with my hardtop on, I can't hear them going down the highway.

I've had mine for about 6 months/10k miles and they are wearing well. With the 4.10 gears I do OK, but they are heavy and I'm looking forward to 5.13s.
