A little over 20miles seems to be the magic number. Also, if you drive 15 miles and then shut off the vehicle the "counter" resets. If I drive around town the light never comes on but if I leave for a distant home inspection they come on around 25 miles or so.

My tires with the TPMS are in the same garage stall so even if the light comes on while I am out they are picked back up when I pull into the garage.

With the Superchip Flashpaq you can now disable the sensors as well as reprogram the psi.
Did mine today and no light, no dings, at all.

Excellent! I better get home and update before they decide it is "illegal" again.

If you do end up getting new sensors, Discount Tire is a good place -- WAY less than what the pirates at the dealership will charge you. I wouldn't bother if you already have the sensors in the stock wheels, you can just swap them into the new wheels and the jeep will pick them up w/ no problem

ALSO...When I asked about putting the sensors in the new wheels....the guy said it was federally mandated to put tpms sensors in new wheels IF the vehicle had tpms from the factory......well I don't know if that is true put I had them do it as they did not charge me. Get guys to deal with and I will go back when I need new tires.
i just picked up my jeep from 4 wheel parts , they installed my lift, tires and wheels, i had asked them not to put the 5th tire wheel on that i was waiting for my new LOD bumper and tire carrier. Well when i went to pick it up the stock spare was off and i asked why, he said he had too to put my tpms's in my new tires, guess what no extra charge

P.S. i agree with you on Kauffman Tire, i was useing them to rotate and balance my stock rubi tires and wheels.

Default Do new sensors need to be programmed?

Sorry if this has been answered but I did not see this question in the thread...

I have a 2010 Sahara Unlimited.
I got new wheels and tires with new sensors installed. I used an AEV Procal to set my TPMS warning to 30#. My tires are inflated to #34 but my warning light has been on for a few days now. Does the TPMS system need to somehow be programmed to recognize the new non OEM sensors or will it automatically detect them just like the factory ones? I could not find anything about this on the Jeep Web-site. I appreciate any help you guys can offer.
