Default tpms question?

Not sure how the tire pressure system works? When I put different rims and tires on I know I will have to reprogram them but will they connect to the new rim or how does it work. Or will it be disconnected all together? Thanks

If you go offroad, and choose to keep the sensors, consider having them banded inside. Those metal stems are easy to break, and they get expensive to keep replacing. (may have been replaced with rubber stems on newer JK's?)

If you choose to go without sensors, you will probably want a ProCal or Flashpaq to turn the system off.

On the outside of the stem? Not sure I understand. Does it need to be disconnected before I take the stock tires off?

I'm getting a procal so I guess it will be off but I was just wondering if they had to be reconnected or what. IV never really looked to see how they work

Mine came with the left photo-type stems above. They were aluminum. I still have them but took them off. I sure like the rubber idea for flexibility. I took mine off because I just could't risk tearing one off on the trail. I use a flashpaq to remove the warning and related system shut offs.

A light will stay on in your dash and it will ding once when your start your Jeep. It isn't that bad. I put them in my new wheeling tires just So I'd have something to remind me to air back up.
