Default Trac Bar question for the educated...

So my 07 JKU has developed a pretty bad DW. After some inspection I found that the upper mounting bracket hole(s) have wallowed out a little bit. I'm still running the factory trac bar at this point. I have a 4"SkyJacker lift with the Trac Bar relocation bracket. I think I may use Kevin's Offroad and go with a JKS trac bar and upgrade to the Durometer bushings. I still need to do something about the holes being enlarged from the DW. Even though the durometer bearings come with 9/16 bolts... that's still not much bigger than the 14 mm factory bolts. Should I weld on a washer or order that encasement bracket that Quadratec sells. Help

Do yourself a favor and get the JKS upper tracbar chassis brace. It reinforces the weak factory bracket.I would also weld on washers this way its stronger than before.

So in your opinion is the JKS a good tracbar? I've looked at the full traction as well. They both seem on par. Only thing is I can't find out what bolt size to use with the full traction TB. I guess they want you to reuse the old bolts... which I don't want to do. I really think that the threads on the factory bolts are part of the cause. They act like a dang rat-tail file in there.

I personally like the JKS one, its really a piece of work when you get it out of the box it has better clearance than the Teraflex monster trackbar which is why I primarily chose it. And if you're running a lift over 3 inches (actual lift) you can later on use their steering sector shaft cross member and brace which provides much needed strength to the OEM steering box. And for the bolts unfortunately yes they want you to reuse the factory stuff.

Stay away from that shit. I've seen both up close and the JKS one is stronger, made better imo, and wraps completely around the OEM bracket. Plus it gives you the option to later on add to it which is a wise investment in itself. This is one of the weaker points on the JK so don't take any chances with it.

Preshate the help man. I guess then, if I'm gonna buy the JKS tracbar AND the JKS tracbar brace, there's no need to order the Durometer bushings from Kevin's offroad to enlarge the bolt size to 9/16. All that's left is finding some new bolts (14mm) that aren't threaded all the way down. Does this sound right?

yup try to get shouldered ones if you can. And somewhere down the line look into beefung up the lower portion of that track bar assembly and it'll be bomb proof.

Thanks man. I'm trying to erase (edit) it and I'm not having luck.
