Default trac loc

How do I know if I have factory trac loc rears in my 09 sahara 4door. I was pulling a guy off the beach last weekend and all 4 tires were spinning does that mean that i do have trac loc. If so are they worth having? I was planning on putting eaton elockers in are they any good?

I believe that the Sahara's and X's have the trac lock while the Rubi's have the lockers.

The trac locks have worked fine for me pulling on the beach and in soft earth. Wish I had lockers when climbing slippery rocks.

The Jeep BLD (Brake Loc Differential AKA Trac-Loc) actually works really well. Weather or not you get true selectable lockers depends on your wheeling prefrences and budget. If money is no object and you wheel hard then get the real lockers, you wouldn't believe the difference!! If your on a budget and your wheeling is limited or mild then stick with the trac-loc, you will be pleasantly surprised at what it can do!
No BLD will ever be as good as a locker, but Jeep did a really good job this time around and alot of people are very happy with the performance of the BLD.

This is incorrect information. The BLD and Trac Lock are two completely seperate things. The BLD simply works through the Jeep's ABS and slows the wheel's speed with less traction to the same speed as the wheel with traction so that all the Jeep's power will not be transferred to the spinning wheel. The Trac Lock is the name fot the Jeep's limited slip differential unit. The two are totally different, but sort of do the same job. Jeeps have BLD regardless of whether they have the Trac Lock, locker, or open differential. BLD is part of the Jeep's electronic programming, not an actual hard part.

Check your build sheet. It will say Trac-Lok on there if you have it. If its not on the list you don't have it.

I believe it is standard equipment on the Sahara. Like posted above, check your build sheet or ask your dealer.

It's not, just a $295 option like on the X.
