Default Track bar bolts

When i replaced my stock track bar I also swapped out the bolts to 9/16 sholder bolts with nylon nuts with a washer on the head end to fill up the gap made at the factory in the mounts( not really a gap but replaced the orig bolts for a tighter fit) My question is this: I used grade 5 bolts because I didnt really have a huge understanding of the bolt grades until I did a little research..Will they be ok? Not going to do hardcore off road stuff just mild//Should I just upgrade to grade 8? Thanks..

I would use G8 hardware. Also, I would replace the nyloc nut with an all metal top lock. If you have a Fastenal near by, they will be able to help. Upgrading to G8 is cheap insurance.

Any time I switch out a bolt, I use grade 8, no sense taking any chances...

Call fastenal, or visit their website, and order the grade 8 bolts and jam nut. Since it is an unusual size they will likely have to order, and you will probably have to buy a pack of 10. Still should be less than $20.

Default Bolts

Metric grade 10.9 is almost equivalent to UNF Grade 8. U must use UNF though. A Grade 5 UNF 9/16 can only torqued to about 110 pds from memory. i have the charts somewhere. Also, use High tensile washers, not standard ones as they can squash a little.

I replaced my lower control arm bolts as well, and have the uppers ready.

I had a nylock nut come off my tie rod. I'd go with the metal top lock nut.
